NAME The name of the organization shall be CARE FOUNDATION.
HEADQUARTERS The name of the Society (NGO) is CARE FOUNDATION. The registered Head Office of the Foundation will be at Anantnag. Branches may be decided by the managing body in thefuture through proper resolution and consultation with the General Body.
Objectives of the Society (Organization)
We are dedicated to work for the Rehabilitation, Empowerment,Security and Liberty of the categories of the following categories. Though the primary focus will be on persons with spinal cord injury and other severe disabilities rendering humans to wheelchair but with the time other categories too will be taken care of.
The detailed list of categories is as under;
(i) Persons with spinal cord injury commonly known as WHEELCHAIR USERS, PARAPLEGIC AND QUADRIPLEGIC.
(ii) Persons who have no family for having not married due to different reasons in their youth and now have no one for security and service of them till their death.
(iii) Persons who are abandoned by their family or have left the family for different reasons.
(iv) Persons especially females who due to disability, physical or psychological problems did not get married as these problems still being taboo in our under-developed society which will take ages to get transformed into an inclusive society.
(v) Persons who are mentally retarded, half-mad or lack mental ability to take care of themselves or even non-violent mad persons who do not need medical intervention but only food and 24×7 care throughout their entire life.
(iv) Paraplegic persons or commonly known as wheelchair users due to MUSCULAR DYSTROPHY, MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS, SPINAL TUMOUR, AWU, PARKINSON DISEASE, SPINA BIFIDA,CELEBRAL PALSY, AMPUTATION, AMYOTROPHIC LATERAL SCLEROSIS (ALS), TRAUMATIC BRAIN INJURY(TBI) ALZHEIMER,S DISEASE, RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS, SPONDYLITIS or any other severe disability which render humans to wheelchair.
(vi) Persons who are enslaved by unscrupulous persons and are put under cover or there's nobody to dare and report these cases to enforcement for their masters being too rich, influential and having political connections and thereby getting the whistle blowers jailed in false and fake cases. Our core aim is to identify these persons from all parts and corners of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh and provide them safe shelter and rehabilitation into society.
The topography of Jammu and Kashmir is such that many parts are yet to be connected with roads and a good percentage of the population lives a migratory life (coming down in winters and going back to mountain tops in summer) there's very little information available of above mentioned categories of persons from these tribes and societies though our dedicated efforts are on to form a network ofinformers from all areas of erstwhile state of Jammu and kashmir exploiting the different sources of information and social media.
Due to the vehement increase in traffic the above mentioned persons often meet accidents resulting in death or disability else are found dead in less visited places. Even during the night dogs bite them and they die afterwards going unnoticed of rabies and thereby being treated for that.
There has been some shameful cases where the persons mentioned in 3rd category got raped and were saved when they were writhing in pain while giving birth to child with no medical support in non populated areas. There can be no more demoralised, pathetic and shameful decrease in the level ofhumanity than this and the way our social fabric is changing a thinking mind cannot helpflinching his body for envisaging the imminent and impending social evils. The demand and need of taking care of these issues is at high ebb and we should not get late in woking up and it is highly inexplicable to declare ourselves helpless to do the needy.
As there is no cure for tramautic paraplegia or paraplegia caused by different neuromuscular diseases our aim is to prevent such peoplefrom falling prey to agents and selfish people who aim to make money by taking advantage of their desire to walk again, as nobody,even in the last minutes of life, would prefer a wheelchair life. Peoplefrom all walks of life are sustaining paraplegia as we have failed on all three fronts individual, social, and government levels. We have failed to enforce the prevention of spinal cord injury(Sci) by implementing safety measures, reforming traffic rules and inculcating civic sense in the society despite knowing that prevention is the only cure. A good percentage of paraplegics do not have access to the internet or even mobile phones our endeavor is to reach such people through our network and help them to avoid the associated problems of spinal cord injury and other forms of paraplegia and live a successful and independent life, both physically and financially.
Though we do not have our own rehabilitation center till date, we have a good network with quality rehabilitation centers throughout India and utilize their services as and when required. We have sent many PwSCI to different centers to treat their bedsores andother ailments. All expenses like food,hotel stays, transportation,and medicines upto the admission in Serve Humanity Serve God (SHSG) bedsore care center Chandigarh were provided by the organisation and we are committed to continue it in the future with even greater intensity. These patients are provided free treatment there including food and in case of any medical emergency are also provided free ambulances and other care to PGI Chandigarh and more importantly are being provided home like environment and ambience which helps to boost their psychological state and inculcate sense of independence in them. We are dedicated to help PwSCI with innovative ideas for modifying their homes with minimal expenses to make them independent in carrying out their daily chores. However, a large number of people from our fraternity are living in hilly areas where such modifications are not feasible. It is our first and foremost aim to get the land and construct a REHAB/OLD AGE HOME and fence the entire land as the persons mentioned in second and third category need round the clock care and supervision. This fenced vast piece of land will not compromise the liberty of these persons without being victims of above mentioned problems. This complex building and open area will enable these persons to live the rest of their lives with purpose, dignity, and Liberty.
